Exchange Programs for Students of High Schools

In the today’s world education is extremely important and a lot of people are very interested in the earning of the university or college degree. Those who have some higher education have, as a rule, better prospects on the job market and have greater level of incomes. However, before getting the university or college degree they have to get their high school diploma. There are two ways of getting education in the US high school: to go to the school that is located in the surrounding area and partake in some school exchange program. To get education in the high school in this fashion the students have to have very good level of their knowledge in English plus great communicating skills.

If the student prefers the first method and have a wish to arrange their individual place of studying than he/she must have relative to live with while studying. Students from abroad must pay some tuition fee even when they go to public schools. Generally they cover studying expenses without applying for any financial aid. Those students who have a wish to get all essential information concerning the US high schools and application procedure have to contact education department of the chosen state. The departments’ numbers can be got from the US Educational Advisory Service.

The second method of getting education is also available. So there are some kinds of studying with the help of exchange programs. They can be from summer exchange to one or even two semesters programs. A number of of them are “homestay”, i.e. the student lives in the US family. As a rule this type of education is self financed and the students rarely apply for any financial assistance.

The University Of Iowa

One of the top schools in its state and in the surrounding region is the University of Iowa. It is located in the south of the Iowa, in Iowa City. This university is also situated on the Iowa River shores. The students are the bigger part of the populace. That is why a population is very diverse and interesting. This University contains eleven colleges, also called fields of study.
