Wyoming University has offered the Trustees Pride Scholarship Program which suggests eligible full scholarships which include tuition costs plus board and room.

The Universities decision to offer the full scholarship appeared after the state wanted to use $400 million in a gift in favor of the Hathway Scholarship Program. Thus, with the additional financial assistance from the state, The University of Wyoming now may employ its finances in order to offer big-ticket scholarships, to make the best high school students continue education in Wyoming.

Beginning from last fall, Wyoming has been offering about $3200 to qualified students of the high school that go to UW and other community colleges of the state.

Learners that have GPA of 3.7 and higher or ACT of 29 or higher are eligible for the Trustees Pride Scholarship Program. This scholarship, in total around $14,600 substitutes the Presidents Honor Scholarships as well as the Trustee Superior Scholarship that were available only to smaller number of students.

The main reason why Wyoming is becoming that antagonistic with the education financial assistance is the reducing reserve of its graduates of the high school. In accordance with the official statistics of the educational department, the state forfeited just about 900 graduates during the time of 2000 – 2005.

At the present, about 13% of Wyoming’s alumnae of high school choose UW and nearly one-third choose community college. If the University desires to uphold its populace of around 13,000 students, then it will have to engage a bigger amount of Wyoming alumnae each year. By reviewing the scholarship organization, the University of Wyoming expects to get its profile better and reduce the great leak of bright students from the state.
